The 5th of November!
With Bonfire Night just around the corner, we’ve been thinking about the firework displays in Malpas and around there. Cropping up all over the Cheshire countryside, the team has put together a list of a few of our favourite shows, from the all-out super fantastic mega spectaculars to small and mid-size events in our surrounding towns and villages.
Our Top 4 Firework Displays In Malpas & Cheshire
Alderford, Whitchurch – 12 mins from The Lion (6.6 miles)
With two spectacular firework displays, a huge Bonfire, plus, all the fun of the fair, AND live music throughout the evening, … What more could you want? Alderford’s event promises fairground rides for youngsters (as well as the big kids) and plenty of stalls. Free parking is also available.
Taking place on Saturday 6th November, gates open at 5pm with the lighting of the bonfire commencing from 6pm. The first sound sensitive fireworks display will begin at 7pm followed by the main (and louder) event at 8pm.
Betley Bonfire, Crewe – 40 mins from The Lion (22.9 miles)
In association with Madeley Heath Motors and Enviro Skip Hire, Betley Court Farm is putting on one of the biggest bonfires in the UK along with a spectacular firework display, all on 6th November.
Run entirely by volunteers, the event aims to raise funds for local clubs, charities, and other great causes.
Expect to watch the sky come to life in the natural amphitheatre of the Betley Mere. The surrounding parkland makes for the perfect viewing spot of all the varied attractions including Stanworth’s fun fair. Gates open at 4pm, and the bonfire will be lit at 6pm, followed by fireworks from 8pm.
Though this one’s a bit of a drive from The Lion, we had to include it if only for the fact that it’s all for a really great cause!
Oulton Park, Tarporley – 33 mins from The Lion (15.4 miles)
For something a little different, why not venture to Oulton Park to see the Neil Howard Stage Rally and firework spectacular on Saturday 6th November?
A capacity entry of rally cars will take on a number of bespoke stages and the circuit’s legendary water splash section too; with the event actually forming the first round of the 2021/22 Motorsport News Circuit Rally Championship in association with MSVR! Cars in action range from modern-day WRC machines to legendary Ford Escorts and classic production class vehicles.
As the rally ends in the fading light, attention will turn to the skies as one of Cheshire’s most spectacular fireworks displays gets underway at around 6pm.
Elton Bonfire, Chester – 37 mins from The Lion (20.8 miles)
The Elton Bonfire and Firework Spectacular is a family-friendly bonfire and fireworks display that has been run annually since 2010 (with the exception of 2020, for obvious reasons). The event is hosted entirely by volunteers from the 1st Ince and Elton Scout Group, who also oversee the organisation of the event.
Plus, this one is totally FREE to enter, however, donations received on the night are greatly appreciated as all money is fed back into the organisation.
The event will take place on 5th of November at Elton Parish Field, and gates open at 6:45pm. The bonfire is lit at around 7pm with the firework display starting from approximately 7:30pm. Remember to wrap up warm and prepare for rain… This is England after all!
