At The Lion, we’re lucky enough to be able to host a number of events in our beautiful Brereton Suite. With the décor kept purposefully neutral, so that you can decorate any and every way you wish, we open our doors to anyone wishing to use the event space for their celebration. The Bereton Suite can hold between 20 and 60 people, depending on what layout you require. Here are just some ways you can use our beautiful Malpas event space, and how to get the best out of your party, dinner, or ceremony!

Ways To Use Our Malpas Event Space
- A Wedding
Not everyone wants to have a huge wedding; instead, focusing on just your closest relations and friends is one way to ensure a more private, intimate ceremony – with the added benefit of lower costs and less hassle! Even before COVID-19, small weddings and even ‘micro weddings’ (defined as fewer than 20 guests) were still chic.
With a smaller ceremony, you can afford to go all out with any zany ideas you might have been more reluctant to execute in front of lots more people.
Why not have that Disney themed wedding you joked about a long time ago? Or you could hire photo booths, magicians or any kind of themed entertainment that tickles your fancy. You only have one wedding, after all – you might as well make it one personal to you!
2. A Baby Shower or Christening Reception
Our space is ideal for a gathering to celebrate the health, happiness, and new life of the little ones in your family! With a generous amount of room for whatever you fancy keeping your guests amused with – whether that’s entertainment, games, or simply lots of cake – there’s plenty of scope to use our Brereton Suite exactly the way you fancy it.
3. An Anniversary Dinner or Birthday Meal
Celebrating the big 6-0, 7-0 or 8-0? How about the big 2-1? Or perhaps you tied the knot a whole 50 years ago!
